The Western civilization is based on individuals. Everyone does everything for himself. It is not easy for us to admit this. I do think there are some people that can look beyond themselves, though.. There aren't many, but I know there are. The number of those kind of people is not growing though, looking at Dutch politics. We are closing our eyes to other people's misery.

Go look at what is going on this world, forget about your own problems for once because we are all just lucky.

Look into my eye, look into my mind.
